جورج و عمر و علي و فريدي بنفس البناية

أسبوع الماضي احتفل المسلمون بالمولد النبوي الشريف، مولد قائد المسلمين و قدوتهم و مرجعهم في كل أمور حياتهم. فهم يمشون على خطاه. و يا ريت فعلاً بيمشو على خطاه.

بداية الشهر احتفلنا بميلاد يسوع، و تمنّيْنا تكون سنة خير علينا و على كل أبناء هذا الوطن. و يا ريت تمنّيْنا انّو نتخطّى النزاعات الطائفية.

مش من زمان كمان سمعنا بأوّل مبادرة لزواج مدني على الأراضي اللبنانية يللي حَ يجمع الحبيبيْن خلود سكرية و نضال درويش يللي بتمنّالهم كلّ التوفيق. و يا ريت الدولة اللبنانية بتتفهّم نضال و خلود و نيّتهم الحسنة و البعيدة عن أي إهانة أو تخطّي للقانون.

و كثير من الأخبار يللي بتصادفنا كل يوم و بكون، و للأسف، الاختلاف الطائفي مأجّج نارها و معزّزها... 

لبنان يتميّز بتعدّد الطائفات. ليش هيدا بدّو يكون سبب هلاكه و دماره؟ ليش ممنوع على السنّي يؤيّد رأي الماروني، و الأرمني يؤيّد الرأي الشيعي، و الأرثودكسي يؤيّد الرأي الدرزي؟

و غير هيدا: و هون بتوجّه الى اللبنانيين يللي بيعتبروا حالهم ديّنين، يعني بيلحقوا القرآن و الانجيل بالحرف: اعطوني مقطع من أحد الكتيابيْن المقدّسيْن أو مقولة عن لسان عيسى المسيح أو النبي محمد (صلّى الله عليه و سلّم) بيسمح مقاتلة الانسان لمجرّد اتذباعه ديانة غير ديانتك؟

من هيدا المنطلق، الأديان كلّها تؤيّد فكرة انّو الله هو الوحيد الذي سيحاسب الانسان، و كلّ الناس أمام الله متساويين. لذلك نحنا كمان ما لازم نتبارى بين بعض مين من الأديان عندها أكبر عدد، و ما لازم نساوي قوانين تعزّز التفرقة بينهم. من المفروض أيضا انّو نلحق الأنبياء يللي منفديهم بأنفسنا بمبدأ عدم إهانة الديانات الثانية. لازم نحنا فعلاً نحترم بعض و نتقبّل بعض على اختلاف معتقداتنا الدينية.

نعم، أنا اسمي عمر، و جاري جورج، أبو جاد، من أأدم الناس. و على الخامس خيّي حسين عسلامتو. و تانت ماري شو قلبها طيّب، دائماً بتخلّي انتها طوني يساعدني بالرياضيات. أيضاً هاغوب، يا الله شو بيضحّكنا كلنا بس نكون سهرانين كلنا سوا تحت العريشة. عنجد و بدون مزح، يا ريت كان هيدا المشهد حقيقة...

مش كُفُر إذا المسلم صبّح المسيحي بالخير، و المسلم ما بينقضي وضوءه إذا سلّم على المسيحي...

الله يكبّر عقولنا و يهدينا حتّى ما ندهور البلد إلى المزيد من المصائب، و خلّونا عيش سوا مش من باب الجبريّة، انّما من باب العيش المشترك لأنّة كانا منكمّل بعض و منساهم ببناء لبنان مميّز و غير متحيّز للطائفيّة.

Happy New & “Accomplishing” Year

New: An adjective we use to describe a person or an event that added or changed something, whatever the size, in us. It can also refer to the fact that we are having a new chance in our lives to fix what is wrong, or what has bad implications and effects.Keeping that in mind, we're in the second day of the New Year, and we have 363 left to accomplish something.
We just don't want the year 2013 to pass by and not have gained anything and certainly not taking a step back from beneficial projects we entered into before.Looking back to 2012, its last quarter has had its benefits for me personally. I know the four pandas have had their share as well, whereby they are constantly gaining people who support them for their cause, and "follow" them.So what do I want in 2013?

In 2013, we don't just want to nag about our problems.
In 2013, we want our hopes and dreams to be solidified, whatever they are.In 2013, I want to meet new people who share my interests and passions and dreams.In 2013, I want influence people, and to give them hope that their lives are going to be better, that their country will be worthy enough to be proud of and not be shy when screaming "I'm Lebanese".

In 2013, I want to help build a new generation that grows on a new mentality.In 2013, I want to support all the Lebanese that are blogging about our problems, and tell them "I agree with you and together we can build a better Lebanon".

In 2013, I want to start something to continue in 2014 and 2015 and 2016 so that someone will continue after me in 2094.They seem a lot, don't they?

Well in 2014, I want write another article and write "In 2013, I accomplished ..."It seems amazing now that I think of it.Let's hope all of you live till 2014 and live with me this amazing feeling.I wish you a great year, and let me take advantage of this moment and congratulate all the Lebanese talents for their most creative works.
 Keep it up guys :D

inno 3ade mechewe wel 3ayle

It’s Christmas, the holiday that we all cherish and that keeps our heart warm.
It’s that time of year that everybody waits for and during which we receive thoughtful message, dear messages and of course the funny messages we all can’t wait to get on our “Whatsapp” so that we forward it to everyone.

We noticed that the messages that we received the most had a common theme:  “family”

One of the messages was “lyom 3ashiye 3ade mechewe wel ahel, boukra mnirja3 3ade machewe el chabeb”. Another one was, “chilna whatsapp wel cellulaire 3a janab ta nit3asha ma3 el ayle, walla toli3 ma ichboun chi”.

So basically ya chabeb, it is clear that “family” isn’t a priority anymore in our life. We are so proud of our Lebanese heritage, our cuisine, our cedars but forget that what makes Lebanon so special is the fact that your family is always there for you in the good and bad times. So between university and work and our outings, we barely have time to spend time with our parents daily. And during the one hour we happen to be with our parents, we are chatting, whatsapping, facebooking, tweeting…

So thank god for Christmas for allowing us to cherish our family through the quality time we spend with them. We should appreciate our families.

Festivities in Lebanon

The month of festivities!

December is the month of festivities in Lebanon.

Each 1st of December brings with it the lights and decorations on the road and in shops, best clothes you can buy in the windows of your favorite stores; best offers you can ever imagine motivating you to buy your Christmas gifts.

 And the famous marketing campaign begins…! Santa Clause and his elves seem like the saviors of Lebanon. You feel that the shops are giving you everything for free through their Christmas adds.  All you see around you is red and green offers which you have to like or else you are considered to be the “Grinch”.

Is it wrong to have a festive month?

Not at all, it is excellent for the economy motivating everyone and spreading a positive and giving spirit in the country.

But ya libneniye you have to remember that Christmas is a sacred holiday that should not be purely assimilated to gifts, new clothes and “a7la” sapins. It goes beyond the materialism we live in.

No matter what is your religion, gifts during this holiday should not be a duty but they should come straight from the heart. So it is unacceptable to take loans to be able to buy gifts, the best clothe and even decoration. You’ll have to pay it back all year long. Wkil sine zet el ghiniye.

 The true meaning of this holiday is about giving from yourselves with happiness and not suffocating yourself. So a simple thoughtful gesture, care and quality time for your loved ones is worth a million expensive gifts.

As for those who can afford to buy expensive gifts (which we hope are all of you), remember the needy people that could really use all the support you can give them. You may think that the NGOs and individuals exaggerate with the SMS, ads and phonecalls to get some help. Well we say that they don’t overdo it. They should do it all year long because the lack of care our government is leaving needs to be filled by us as individuals. So it is forbidden to have that much less fortunates around.

Some of you might even feel that some NGOs are not really well handling the collected money… For you we say, help close people you know that are in need and that no one is aware off. Do it anonymously if possible because then you will feel the true meaning of giving from yourself, without requiring something in return.

This will bring you one step forward to understanding the true meaning of Christmas.

"بعد عندك أمل بـ لبنان؟"

العنوان هو أهمّ سؤال سألني اياه محمد مكّي بعد "انضمامي" الى ال "Lebanese Panda Revolution" .  و للصراحة، هيدا الموضوع هو أهمّ من المواضيع السابقة متل الصحة و البيئة و الاقتصاد، لأنّ بلا أمل، مش لح يكون في عنّا دافع لنحسّن بلدنا. آخر اكتشافاتي موضوع كتبه اللبناني ايلي فارس و عنوان مقاله

 "The Week I Lost Hope In Lebanon" و لقد كتب هذه الجملة:

 “Can we nag? Sure. Would that lead anywhere? No. Can we talk about it? Sure. Would that get us anywhere? No. Can we do something about it? Perhaps. Would that change things? No.”

هيك جمل و هيك اعترافات بتصيب الناس يللي عندهم أمل بالجلطة. كتير عالم نصحوني و قالولي "خيّي ما حا يطلع بإيدك تغيّر بلد" مع العلم إنّو كل واحد منهم بدّو لبنان يتغيّر. أكيد كل واحد منّا بحبّ يكون عندو كهرباء 7\24 و ما يضلّ عايش بخوف من انفجارات و كل قرف السياسة.  كلنا منتمنّى ترجع بيروت باريش الشرق و يرجع لبنان سويسرا الشرق فعلاً مش بس بالحكي.

ايلي لخّصلنا حالة كلّ لبناني: بيحكي بالموضوع بس مش طالع بـ ايدو. منبقا راكضين ورا هؤلاء السياسيين و "نحنا فدى السيد" و "الله و الشيخ" و "على راسي البيك" على أمل انّو "بوظّفلي ابني" أو "بيدعمنا بالأوقات الحرجة". بالمقابل، كل شي بقولو هذا السياسي يللي عم بعاملنا متل خواريفه كأنّه قرأن أو انجيل منزّل علينا. الكل بقلّك "اذا منّك مدعوم بلبنان فتت بالحيط". بس المضحك انّو حتى لو عبدنا السياسي أمرار ما بقدّملنا شي.

الى متى بدنا نضلّ عايشين بجميلة السياسيين؟ طيّب مزال نحنا معظمنا ضدّ هيدا المنطق، ليش ما منحكي و منقول "نحنا غير راضيين عن هذا الوضع" ؟أنا انسان راشد و حرّ بقراراتي. صحيح يمكن لوحدي ما بيطلع بـ ايدي ، بس أنا مش لوحدي. أنا مأكّد انّو في عدد منيح من اللبنايين غير راضيين عن ها الموضوع. كل واحد ما بيحَر أخبار كل يوم غير راضي عن هيدا الموضوع. كل واحد بيحضر فيلم أو برنامج كوميدي أو فنّي بدل برنامج حوار سياسي غير راضي عن هيدا الموضوع. كل واحد بعد عندو أمل بلبنان غير راضي عن هيدا الموضوع.

حرام لبنان يخسر الأمل يللي كان عند ايلي.

حرام لبنان بشارة الخوري و رياض الصلح يموت معهم.

حرام لبنان بنهار 22 تشرين الثاني يضلّ مفقود الأمل منّو.

الانتخابات النيابية قريبة، و صار لازم نشكّل شريحة من الشباب غير راضية عن الوضع الحالي. نحنا ما فينا نغيّر بـ لبنان إلّا اذا انتخبنا لبنانيين يهمّن مستقبل البلد مش انّو يستفيدو من الكرسي كمنجم مصاري أو قوّة لمصالحهم الشخصيّة. لازم يتذكّر النائب المنتخب مين وصّلوا الى منصبه. نحنا شباب جامعات و عنّا اطّلاع على العالم الخارجي أكثر من يللي أكبر منّا: نحنا قادرين نغيّر و ما في شي مستحيل.

بدنا نعيش ببلد منفتخر فيه، مش على أرض منضلنا منسبّ الساعة يللي خلقنا عليها بسبب فقداننا الأمل.
